Cross-Country wraps up 2006 season.

Cross Country- Congratulations to the SCS Cross Country team runners who participated in the Archdiocesean Championship at the Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia on Sunday, October 29th.  Runners Ev Craney, Zach Hatzenbeller, Phil Torresani, Bobby Lenahan, Joe Marinelli, Ryan Tancredi, Regina Craney, Mary Ellen Kennedy and Mike McEldrew all gave it their best on a tough course and a very windy day.  Congratulations to all of them!

Meets are held every Sunday through October 29th (Archdiocesan Championship).

The first meet of the new season was held on Sunday, September 17th on a beautiful sunny day at the Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia.  First time runners Evelyn Craney (Sub-novice) and Zach Hatzenbeller and Phil Torresani (Novices) gave it their all on a hilly course and a warm day.  Minors Regina Craney, Bobby Lenahan, Joey Marinelli and Ryan Tancredi got their first taste of their 3K race course which includes the famed parachute and suicide hills.  And Veteran Cadet runners Mary Ellen Kennedy and Mike McEldrew also did their best on their 4K course.  The cross country team practices on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6PM at Deep Meadow Park.  Meets are held on Sunday afternoons at the Belmont Plateau.  If you like to run and would like to see what cross country is all about, there's still time to join us. Congratulations to 4K distance runners Maura Craney, Grace Foster, and Mary Ellen Kennedy for earning the third-place, Cadet Girls’ Division trophy in the Archdiocesan Cross Country Championships, October 30 at Belmont Plateau. This was the championship meet for the entire Philadelphia Area CYO, including schools from as far away as Kennett Square and Pottstown!! All three girls finished among the top 25 runners in the race. Congratulations also to Mike McEldrew, Minor Boys’ Division, for running to a top-15 finish in his city-wide race. Special thanks to dedicated coaches Lorraine Davis and Jack Kennedy for generously giving their time and talent to these hardworking athletes.
